  2. Hi there. Just wondering if there is anyone out there in the Brisbane area who had had their child diagnosed with pathological demand avoidance syndrome? My son was diagnosed by a paediatrician with high functioning Asd. I have done hours and hours of research and am 99 percent sure my boy suffers from Pathological Demand Avoidance Syndrome. It's very important to have diagnosed I fell because the approach to addressing issues for this syndrome are so different to any other recognised ASD's. As I understand it, many padeatricians in Australia don't accept this as a "clinical diagnosis".. The UK seem to lead the world in research and recognition. I really would like my son to see a psychologist with experience and confidence in making a diagnosis on this and if anyone can help me find one who has recognised and diagnosed this in Brisbane or the Gold Coast before I would really appreciate you letting me know. Thanks in advance!
